| Real Estate was not my original
career. After graduating from the University of California at Berkeley with a Bachelor and
Masters Degrees in English (no, I wasnt a hippie or activist!), I returned to
my hometown (Kansas City) and taught English at Shawnee Mission North High School. Also, I
instructed homebound students in English, Spanish History and gymnastics. While my children were toddlers, I tutored and taught
homebound students and made and sold "dough" art to various area boutiques. In
1978 I obtained my Missouri and Kansas Real Estate Salespersons Licenses; later I
got my Brokers' licenses. So now my classroom covers mostly Johnson County, Kansas and
southern Jackson County, Missouri.
For awhile I had my own real estate company called
S&S Realty. I worked at a property management firm operated by my family. Since they
purchase in large quantities for many apartment complexes, Im able to help my
clients save money on appliances, paint, carpet, wallpaper, plumbing supplies, etc. Also,
I have names of workmen who are talented & reasonably priced.
I was associated with Eugene D. Brown Co. from
1982-1991 and was one of its top producers and a lifetime member of the Chairmans
Club (qualifying by being in the Million Dollar Plus Club for 5 years). I was the top
sales agent in my office in 1988-1990
In 1991 I joined J.D. Reece Realtors. The available
staff and computer support give me the freedom to list, sell, and provide even better
service to my customers. Reeces impressive market share (currently #1 in the city,
selling more than the #2, #3 and #4 companies combined) helps me sell my listings even
more quickly. From 1991-1996 I was the #2 agent 5 times, and the #3 agent once. In 1997 I
was honored as the #1 J.D. Reece REALTOR for all 19 offices and 1,100 agents, with over
120 transactions and $17 million in sales volume. The last few years I have ranked in the
top 10 agents in Johnson County and Kansas City.
As for my family background, I am the oldest of
five. All but one live in the KC area. My sister is an artist and art therapist. My
younger brother builds homes and does remodeling and my older brother manages apartments.
My mother is a docent at the Nelson Art Gallery and will be happy to give you a private
tour. I am a single mother of three daughters. They have been involved in gymnastics,
theater, dance, horseback riding, and swimming. Our two dogs (a Bichon Frise and a
Pomeranian Poodle) and two cats get along very well and get lots of attention.

My hobbies are reading, movies, fitness, traveling, photography and art. I belong to
Hadassah, Brandeis, Temple Sisterhood, Friends of the Zoo, Friends of Art, Native Sons of
Kansas City and various Real Estate organizations. I own and manage rental homes in
Johnson County. In case you want to invest, I can advise you from personal experience.
Personality-wise I am sincere, outgoing, talkative,
love working with people and enjoy the challenge of "putting deals together." I
am hardworking, persistent, and called "a character" by many. I have many of the
typical Capricorn traits (born January 12). Also, I represent the minority of people who
are left-handed (1 in 15, supposedly, and only a third of whom are women). I guess that
makes me in my "right mind" and more creative! Sharing my birthday is Mitzie
Price, my strong right hand. She is a notary and is a licensed real estate agent with 16
years management and administrative experience.
I believe that in real estate as with other fields
one must spend money in order to make money. Therefore, I heavily advertise in the Homes
Magazine, the Kansas City Star, Sun, Kansas City Business Journel and flyers to other
agents in addition to advertising provided by my company. I have my own websites
(khomes.net and johnsoncountyhomes.com), real estate hot-line and program matching buyers
and listings. The Sunday Kansas City Star has featured me in a full page ad in the real
estate section and in testimonials. With my portable computer, 24-hour voice mail, pager
and car phone, my customers find it easy to keep in touch.
I work had for my buyers as a buyers' agent (having
earned the ABR designation) and for sellers to make the move easier. I provide lists of
qualified inspectors and free pre-qualification for a mortgage loan. Continuing education
is important. I am one of 3% of all Realtors with a Certified Residential Specialist
(CRS), and SRES (Seniors Real Estate Specialist).
So if you're interested in purchasing a new home, selling your current home, or are
relocating to another city, give me a call. I can provide you with a free market analysis
of your home, and answer any questions you may have regarding the real estate market. |
"She was a very

talked the seller into letting us preview it. I bought the home before anyone else could
see it. Sharon was the best agent and explained all aspects of home buying to me."
