Boating |
Sail away with any
of several sailing clubs in Kansas City, including the Lake Jacomo Sailing Club and the
Perry Yacht Club on Lake Perry. The Kansas City speedboat Association offers boating
opportunities for anyone who has inboards, outboards, runabouts, or hydroplanes.

The Johnson County Sailing Society
sponsors summer races at Shawnee Mission Park on Sundays. With parks and recreation
departments offering boating trips ranging from canoeing to float trips throughout the
country, there's surely one that will "float your boat!"
Although Kansas City is located in
the middle of two oceans, it is only a two to three hour drive to major lake resort areas.
Missouri offers Lake of the Ozarks, Harry S. Truman Reservoir, Lake Tameycomo, and Lake
Stockton. Boating in Kansas can be as near as sailing on Lake Perry or skiing on Tuttle
Creek.

Golf with 23 public golf
courses located throughout the metropolitan area, you can easily find the right course.
Kansas City has the prestigious honor of being the home town for two of the 4 best new
courses according to Golf Digest, 1990. For amateurs who enjoy playing in area
tournaments, be sure to check out the Kansas Junior Championship, the US Golf Association
Heart of America 4-Ball Match Play Championship tournaments.

Tennis |
If tennis is your
"racquet," you'll certainly have no problem finding a place to play in Kansas
City. With hundreds of free courts located in parks throughout the city, there is surely
one close to you. There are some courts that require city membership or resident cards for
admittance. Check your local city hall to find out additional information. Various private
clubs also offer tennis facilities.

Skiing |
Snow Skiing just 15 minutes north of MCI Airport, Kansas City
residents can enjoy snow skiing at Snow Creek Ski Area in Weston, Missouri. Open generally
from the 1st of December through mid-March, skiers can enjoy day or night skiing on
man-made snow trails. Kansas City also boasts one of the largest ski clubs in
